A Small Observation...
Saturday, May 13
While at Wal-Mart getting groceries... I again saw a Native American couple trying to grab a stuffed animal out of those crane machines out front. Everytime I go there it's a Native American person. Being one myself, I wonder what the draw is to that type of machine.
At another grocerie store, for stuff that wasn't on sale at Wal-Mart, Again... a native couple trying to grab a cheap assed stuffed animal. I thought...."Hmm, I'm on to something here." The thing is... I have no desire to shove money into a machine for a product that is worth half the money... why do they do it?

Look In The Mirror...
Tuesday, May 9
Back in school, I was treated alright but there were others who weren't. They were different and didn't do the things most others did so they were singled out and ridiculed for it. I admit to some teasing as a kid but it usually ended quickly after realizing that the kid being picked on could most possibly be me. I put myself in their shoes and didn't like what I saw.
In most school, around here, if you can't throw, catch and run you are considered weird. Sports, Sports, Sports!!! If you were lucky you could do more than just play with other males. The jock still reigns supreme from what my daughter tells me. Teachers think that if you do well in extracurricular activities you are worth more in the society of school. What they don't realize is that everybody is made up the same. With the exception of an appendix or something.
I played sports as a kid without the harassment from my father. Sure he was my little league coach back in the day but respected me if I had had enough. You watch other kids and their parents get physical with them to do better and you see the discontent on their little faces. Those are the one who end up rebelling against the parent and get into some sort of trouble. Or... you have the rich, well to do kid who thinks a break is owed to him or her. These types are the worst.
Just because you are overweight as a kid doesn't give anybody the right to bash on someone's self esteem. Those who do end up getting it in the end. In one of my earlier posts I mentioned a punishment for using the Bible to strengthen a personal opinion. I said,
"...I'm sure there in the depths of some religious rule there is a law for which your short and curly's will ignite and smolder a 1000 years, at least I hope there is, and you will have to chew on a homeless man's (or woman's) damp sock for enough spit to extinguish the fire on your smoldering pubes...". I hope this punishment befalls the tormenter of others and the ones who stand idly by when they seek the forgiveness of the afterlife.
Do you smell something burning?????

What Are You Listening To???
Looking back at the music I listen to it's quite eclectic. You have your standard music listener who listens to one genre of music, which is fine but.. a broader range reflects a personality I think. Sure you won't have Pantera on your ipod along side of Elvis' greatest gospel but you know what I'm trying to say.
Some people I know refuse to listen to country music because they think it's hillbilly music. Not true... Bluegrass is hillbilly music and I listen to some of it... not alot but some. It depends on the mood. I grew up in the days of hairbands and good college music (as it was put back then). If you didn't listen to some hairband music in the 80's there was something wrong with you and you were a liar.
Back in the day... I won't lie... I listened to hairband music. It was fun to drink to and it was being played everywhere. Y&T, Ratt, Motley Crue, Honeymoon Suite, Saga, MSG, the Scorps.... to name a few. Party music... But by myself I was a little more reserved. I listened to the likes of R.E.M., The Cure, The Smiths, Brian Ferry (with and without Roxy Music) Stuff I still listen to today.
I started getting interested in music rather young. You know the AOR radio stuff from the 70's. Elton John, Andrew Gold, The Doobie Bros., Gilbert O'Sullivan, Peter Frampton, and yes... the fucking Bee Gee's. Back then they were smoking.
Shit I listen to today is all over the place. Again... depending on the mood. take today... I'm in a Hoodoo Guru's kinda mood where yesterday it was 80's hairband music. the music in my collection ranges from the early 70's with The Stampeders to Coldplay's latest. I have smooth jazz... The Rippington's to Sade. I have progressive country with Sara Evan's ( I love Sara Evans). System of a Down is a favorite to Journey. Most think I can't make up my mind.... I do... just depends on the mood.

Hmmm... Again...

To live in South Dakota you must accept a few things. Low wages, Inept leadership, Bible quoting idiots.
Low wages... South Dakota ranks 50th in the United States to pay thier educators. 50th!!! Every so often Montana slips and South Dakota become 49th and the switch goes back and forth. Nobody actually does anything to improve, they just keep slipping. Now I'm not a fan of unions. Mainly because... instead of government officials and administrators getting wealthy bonus', the union heads get it. No win situation.
Inept leadership... South Dakota voters vote the incumbent way most of the time. With the exception when the incumbent becomes a national figure and loses sight of the constituents who voted them in. So... in essence, it's actually inept voters but they do like to stir the soup when it needs stirring. This state has been uniformily Red. The people will say that they are good Christians electing the people who have similar beliefs when in fact a theocratic form of government is the most dangerous. In other words, the Red voters have no clue what damage could possibly come from thier inept actions. Our Governor is inept. From Bill "the Killer" Janklow to Mike " You Aren't The Boss Of Me" Rounds.
Speaking of the spotlight on this state.... Why is it anything involving the word "South" always has something going on in the government that people have a distain for? You never hear of this stuff going on in "North" Dakota. Just an observance.... Anyways...
Bible Quoting Idiots... I have nothing against people reading the "Good Book". It is a fascinating story on many fronts. BUT... Don't quote certain passages to back a personal opinion. I'm sure that somewhere in the depths of some religious rule there is a law, for which your short and curly's will ignite and smolder for a thousand years, at least I'm hoping there is, and you will have to chew on a homeless man's (or woman's) damp sock for enough spit to extinguish the fire on your smoldering pubes. I'm not sure if I could stand around for 1000 years to watch that.... Well maybe depending on who it is...
Anyways... This is my rant for today.... 'Cest La Vie..
