The Way.....

Monday, October 30
As you all know, I live in South Dakota. The mind thought here is... I'm not too sure. The people vote mostly for the incumbent but when the incumbent gets the power needed to make change they vote them out of office. Uneducated voting is what I call it.

The election is going to get interesting next week here. We will be voting on a number if issue that have life changing consequences. The big one that most know of is the ban on abortion. A clear and present violation of the sacred Constitution. I'm voting to repeal the ban set by the Bonehead in Chief Governor. I see it as an act of idiocy to violate the articles of the Constitution in anyway. To ban abortion in this state will do nothing to save lives, as the supporters will tell you. They will just drive somewhere where it's legal. My stand isn't on the issue of abortion at all. I think abortion is bad but to tell a woman that she isn't smart enough to make that decision of her own free will on what happens inside her body is just wrong. What next... what she can eat? Drink? Be involved with? The day of reconing is approaching.

Next on the ballot is to ban a form of gambling here called "Video Lottery". Video Lottery consists of playing video Poker, Keno, BlackJack, And Bingo to win money. In the agreement to have this form of gambling, the State of South Dakota takes 50% of the profits. Profit estimates have been as high as 380 million annually in which the state reaps half. A "no Brainer" attitude will tell you that the loss of that cash flow will have to be made up somehow most likely in the form of higher taxes for all.

Next is another tobacco tax. We have raised taxes on tobacco too many times. Again I take the stand that tobacco is harmful to your health and bad for others breathing second hand smoke but are we really going to change the perception that higher taxes on tobacco will be a reason to quit? Hell no. I can guarantee that crime will increase for those who can't afford the $7.00 price tag for smokes.

Those are the issues that I am most interested in and will be paying close attention to as should you on the women's rights issue (abortion ban)

Enough of that... I'm happy as a pig in shit to be back telling it my way and hope you comment like you used to. Talk to you later,

Eric
