Small Talk..... NHL vs. NFL...

Sunday, November 6
Most of you who read this aren't going to be interested in this subject. I'm going to compare two sports and tell you why I think Hockey is much better than the No Fun League.

The NFL used to be a quality game to watch. Now that defense players can't smoke the pussy quarterback, well I decided to watch a better game.

The NFL and NHL game times are identical, 60 minutes. The difference is that the NHL plays 3 twenty minute periods and the NFL plays 4 fifteen minute quarters. The NFL has a halftime and the NHL have intermissions between periods.

The big difference that I noticed is that for each play in the NFL averages out to be between 4 to 7 seconds with 45 seconds between each play. To me that isn't much playing and a whole lota standing around. 5 seconds isn't that long. A hockey game play can last for 5 minutes at times before a penalty clock stop. Also, the clock continues after a play in the NFL while the clock stops in the NHL. More play for the dollar.

The NFL has to stop play for a player change. The NHL changes on the fly. The NHL any player can be smoked, hit or whatever. In the NFL, the one with the ball most of the time barely gets touched, and if he is hit while he's running, he can feet first slide and avoid a hit. The NHL, if the player has his head down and not watching around him, he can be hit as hard as the defensive player can.

These are just some of the reasons that the NFL is a game of protecting the goddamn quarterback at any cost of the quality of the game. So kiddies... watch the NHL, it's a much better game.
